I wrote this living in the apartment below Del Marquis in Brooklyn. I just bought a real upright piano and was playing these chords on it and Del txt me saying he loved whatIi was playing, so I took it as a sign to keep going!

I set the song aside for quite some time, but when I learned how to play
saxophone in 2016 I went back to it and added the saxophone part and it finally felt finished. I loved the generally upbeat nature of the ‘tales of the city’ EP but it was nice to have this more mellow moment in the mix.
