I had this instrumental kicking around for years that I just couldn’t do much with, and then after Elton John agreed to sing on ‘I Wish We Were Leaving’ (!!!) I needed to make a few more songs to make an EP.

My mix engineer for the elton session fell through so I had to mix the song myself (terrified!!!) but his team loved it, which was a relief and a huge incentive to keep working and pushing.

I revisted this instrumental and tweaked the sounds, and ended up writing this song about long distance romance, having recently moved to america and having learned what it’s like to care about people from afar.
